A fortunate lottery ticket sold in Bonita Springs turned someone into a millionaire on Tuesday night.

Despite the Mega Millions jackpot of $306 million rolling over, a ticket purchased at a 7-Eleven on 24651 S. Tamiami Trail clinched the second-tier prize of $1 million.

The odds of winning were 1 in 12,607,306, but the ticket managed to match the winning numbers drawn—26, 28, 36, 63, 66—only missing the Megaball, which was 15.

The lucky winner can claim their prize either at the Florida Lottery District Office in Fort Myers or the headquarters office in Tallahassee.

The next Mega Millions drawing, with an estimated jackpot of $331 million, is scheduled for Friday at 11 p.m., with odds of winning the jackpot at 1 in 302,575,350.

For those fortunate enough to win, the Florida Lottery offers some tips:

  • Sign your ticket
  • Keep your ticket safe
  • Claim your prize before it expires (usually within 180 days)
  • Validate your ticket using a self-check scanner at any retailer

Mega Millions is a multi-state jackpot game available in 46 lottery jurisdictions, including Florida. The jackpot starts at $20 million and increases until all six numbers are matched.

Lower-tier prizes range from $2 to $1 million and can reach up to $5 million with the Megaplier. Tickets cost $2, with an additional $1 for the Megaplier, and the odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.
