A family in Arizona is grieving the loss of their twin daughters, aged 3, after a devastating incident in Phoenix. The girls, identified as Valentina and Penelope Ruiz, tragically drowned in their backyard swimming pool despite their father’s desperate attempts to revive them.

According to reports from Fox 10 Phoenix, the father frantically tried to resuscitate the girls after they fell into the pool. Despite his efforts, both Valentina and Penelope were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Authorities have described the incident as a tragic accident, with no suspicion of foul play involved. Paramedics responded swiftly to the scene after receiving a report of a toddler in the pool, but unfortunately, the girls were found unconscious upon their arrival.

Details regarding how long the girls were in the pool before being discovered remain unclear. The backyard pool did not have a fence around it, highlighting the importance of safety measures to prevent such tragedies.

Phoenix Fire Capt. Rob McDade expressed the harrowing nature of the situation, noting the emotional toll it took on the father as he attempted CPR on both children.

Despite being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, Valentina and Penelope could not be saved. The community mourns the loss of these young lives and underscores the importance of water safety awareness to prevent similar incidents in the future.
