Raymond Mikelonis, a 67-year-old man from Penfield, Pennsylvania, has been handed a 15 to 40-year prison sentence for possessing child pornography.

He admitted guilt to charges of possessing and distributing child pornography, along with criminal use of a communication facility. The judge labeled him a sexually violent predator, meaning he must register as a sex offender for life.

This isn’t Mikelonis’ first brush with the law on sexual abuse matters. He has two prior convictions, one for child sexual assault and another for possessing child pornography.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry highlighted the threat Mikelonis poses to society, noting his refusal to seek help or change his ways, and his continued exploitation of children.

An investigation by the attorney general’s office revealed that child pornography was being downloaded from a computer associated with Mikelonis’ IP address. Upon searching his home with a warrant, authorities found damning evidence on his computer.

The attorney general’s office urges anyone with information about child predators to contact the Child Predator Section at 1-800-385-1044. Concerned individuals can also report child abuse to the Pennsylvania ChildLine at 1-800-932-0313.
