This Saturday Dec. 10, 2022, Nike will release a new pair of Jordan Cherry 11’s that will be available online and in-store at most sneaker retailers.

There is a lot of hype around these shoes. The last time Nike released these 11’s was in 2016 and they were the lows.  According to kicksonfire.com, the shoes are described as follows: “the silhouette is suggested to boast a white mesh base with leather accents on the heels, followed by Varsity Red adorning its high-cut patent leather overlay, branding on the ankle, and tongues, in addition to the inner lining. Finally, a white midsole and translucent outsole will round out the two-tone profile.”

North Little Rock High School junior Alyssa Cosby, an employee at McCain Mall’s Kids’ Foot Locker, agrees that the shoe’s design is what’s making this drop so highly anticipated.

“We have shoes that stay on the shelf for months and months and no one picks them up, but the Cherry 11’s are appealing to the eye,” said Cosby.

The range price for an average Jordan sneaker is about $145; however, the Cherry 11’s are on the higher end retailing at $225. While many would balk at such an expensive price point, $225 is not enough to stop many sneakerheads, like NLRHS junior Alex Harris, who also works at Kids Foot Locker, from copping the shoe.

“$225 is outrageous. Ridiculous. Am I still going to buy them? Of course. I’m still going to pay it and be broke, said Harris.

Expensive or not, many people are expected to have the Cherry 11’s under their trees this holiday season.
