One day after California State Parks announced they had removed about 6,000 pounds of marijuana grow waste from various parks, another agency in Northern California has found even more illegal marijuana.

On Thursday, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department reported that its marijuana enforcement team executed 15 search warrants over two weeks, from late June to early July. They discovered over 25,000 marijuana plants and more than 3,000 pounds of processed marijuana.

The department also reported 59 environmental violations and 64 water code violations. Eight hazardous, illegal, or banned pesticides were found as well.

Most of the warrants were served in the Rackerby and Brownsville areas. During a search on July 9, two Northern California residents were arrested: a 72-year-old from Stockton and a 75-year-old from Woodland.

Both individuals were booked at a Yuba County jail on suspicion of marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale, conspiracy, and possession of illegal/restricted pesticides.

The investigation was supported by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the National Guard, the California Environmental Protection Agency, the California State Water Board, and the Department of Cannabis Control.
