San Bernardino County(Thechieftainspear) – Authorities are investigating a frightening incident at a Victorville day care where a child tested positive for fentanyl exposure after reportedly ingesting unknown pills found on the premises.

San Bernardino County deputies were called to La Petite Academy on Bear Valley Road on March 18 following reports that blue pills had been discovered in a classroom. Staff members quickly gathered the pills and notified law enforcement.

Investigators identified the pills, which were imprinted with “M30,” as potentially counterfeit and laced with fentanyl, a highly potent opioid.

Surveillance footage helped deputies determine that three children may have come into contact with the pills. The children and two staff members were taken to local hospitals, where at least one child tested positive for fentanyl exposure.

At this time, it remains unclear how the pills ended up at the facility. Authorities are conducting interviews with staff and parents and reviewing additional evidence to determine the source.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not released further details.
