Severe storms over the weekend, including multiple tornadoes, have tragically resulted in at least four fatalities across six states: Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Texas. Between Saturday and Sunday afternoon, 38 tornadoes were reported.

Mississippi confirmed two deaths, one in Adams County and another in Lowndes County, with over 10 others injured.

Texas reported one death, and North Carolina confirmed a fatality when a 70-year-old man’s truck was struck by a falling tree during high winds.

The storms caused significant damage, especially in Montgomery County, Texas, where an EF-3 tornado left 302 damaged structures and around 1,300 homes without power.

Power outages were widespread, affecting up to 100,000 utility customers at one point.

As the storms dissipated Sunday afternoon, the Southeast remained under a severe weather watch, with high winds and heavy rain expected to continue into the Northeast.
