The proposal to add President Donald Trump’s likeness to Mount Rushmore has stirred up considerable discussion.

Introduced by Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, the bill reflects the ongoing debate about Trump’s legacy. Luna’s statement underscores her view that Trump’s leadership and influence make him deserving of a place alongside historic figures like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

However, it’s not the first time Trump’s potential inclusion on the monument has been floated. In 2020, there were reports suggesting that Trump’s team had inquired with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem about the possibility, though the White House later denied them.

Adding to the national conversation, some support the idea, believing Trump’s contributions to the nation warrant such recognition, while others view it as overly controversial, given the monument’s historical significance and its ties to past leaders.
