Under Coach Jim Schlossnagle’s guidance, the Texas A&M baseball team has reached the NCAA Super Regionals for the second time in three years.
The No. 3 Aggies secured their spot in the next round after a 9-4 victory against No. 23 Louisiana in the regional final at Blue Bell Park. Texas A&M has maintained an undefeated record in the postseason tournament, adding to their wins against Grambling and Texas.
During the match against the Ragin’ Cajuns, the Aggies achieved two new single-season program records. Junior shortstop Ali Camarillo’s solo home run in the seventh inning set a new record for the most home runs in a season, surpassing the previous mark of 128.
Third baseman Gavin Grahovac also made a significant contribution with a solo homer in the ninth inning, setting a new freshman record with his 22nd home run of the season.
Junior outfielder Braden Montgomery was recognized as the MVP of the Bryan-College Station Regional.
Looking ahead, Texas A&M will go up against Oregon in the upcoming Super Regionals. The Ducks secured their spot by defeating the No. 18 Gauchos twice and San Diego in the UC Santa Barbara Regional.
The next phase of the NCAA Tournament is scheduled to commence at Olsen Field on Friday evening.
