The St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s recent editorial sharply criticized Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, branding him as quite possibly the worst sitting senator in America.

The paper condemned Hawley for his role in inciting the January 6 Capitol riots, pointing out his early and prominent decision to challenge the 2020 election results without evidence.

The editorial also denounced his opposition to U.S. aid to Ukraine and described him as a demagogue on the Senate floor.

Hawley, captured in an infamous photo raising his fist in solidarity with the pro-Trump crowd, is further criticized for fleeing the Capitol after encouraging the same protesters.

His former political mentor, ex-Senator John Danforth, publicly regretted supporting him, calling it the worst mistake of his life.

The Post-Dispatch endorsed Hawley’s Democratic challenger, Lucas Kunce, and urged conservative voters to avoid third-party candidate Jared Young. Despite this, polls show Hawley maintaining a significant lead over Kunce.
