This bill seems like a crucial step toward ensuring the safety of individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Given that six in ten people with dementia will wander at some point, training first responders on how to effectively handle these situations could truly save lives.

It’s concerning that House Bill 238 has yet to receive a vote, despite the urgent need for such training.

The firsthand accounts from search and rescue volunteers highlight how current response strategies may not always be equipped to handle these cases.

What do you think—should dementia training for first responders be mandatory rather than optional?
