OXFORD, Conn. WTNH — On Wednesday, Senator Richard Blumenthal D-Conn. toured flood recovery efforts in western Connecticut, focusing on support for residents affected by severe weather.
He visited the Oxford Mobile Registration Intake Center, where the Federal Emergency Management Agency FEMA assists residents with recovery aid applications.
Blumenthal highlighted FEMA’s extensive outreach, noting that they have visited over 900 businesses and are actively disbursing funds to help residents rebuild their homes and businesses.
FEMA is on the ground, working hard, delivering money into people’s hands, their bank accounts, so they can rebuild, he stated.
Additionally, Route 34 in Oxford has fully reopened following damage sustained during the August flooding, marking a significant step in the community’s recovery efforts.
