A search is in progress for a 28-year-old man from St. Clair, Michigan, who went missing after jumping into Lake St. Clair on Saturday afternoon.

The incident began around 3:50 p.m. when Essex County OPP received a report from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton. The man had jumped into the water from a pontoon boat and did not resurface.

Search efforts are being conducted by the OPP Essex detachment, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, the JRCC, and the United States Coast Guard.

This marks the second water-related incident in the Windsor area in recent days. On May 23, two swimmers went missing at Sandpoint Beach, and their bodies were recovered the next day.

The OPP will provide updates on the search as more information becomes available.
