During a heated House Oversight Committee meeting on Tuesday, Rep. Nancy Mace R-SC and Rep. Jasmine Crockett D-Texas had an intense exchange that led to Mace challenging Crockett to a fight.

The tension began when Crockett criticized Mace’s efforts to ban transgender women from using female facilities at the US Capitol, accusing Mace of using the issue to fundraise for her campaign.

Crockett remarked, “I can see that somebody’s campaign coffers really are struggling right now, referring to Mace’s actions, and called her a child, which angered Mace.

Mace quickly fired back, saying, “I am no child. Do not call me a child!” and suggested they continue their conversation outside. This prompted Mace to shout, “If you want to take it outside, we can do that.

Although House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer R-Ky. intervened, arguing that Mace’s comment could have been a suggestion for a casual discussion, Crockett later took to X formerly Twitter, claiming that she felt threatened by Mace’s words. Mace, however, remained defiant, tweeting that she would not be belittled and would hold the line.”

This altercation followed another volatile moment involving Crockett last year, when she clashed with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene R-Ga. during a House hearing.
