Republican Vice Presidential Candidate J.D. Vance will visit Oklahoma City on Friday, according to News 9 sources. U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin is hosting a private fundraiser for Vance, organized with several notable Oklahomans.
Mullin told Fox Radio on July 17 that the event will be held at a private residence. “We’re just doing a fundraiser for J.D., who I consider a friend,” he said.
The event, hosted by banker Mark Davenport, will feature Vance, Mullin, Governor Kevin Stitt, and Attorney General Gentner Drummond. Originally set for two weeks ago, it was rescheduled due to changes after the debate and an assassination attempt.
Former Oklahoma GOP Chairwoman Pam Pollard expressed her support, saying she has been impressed by Vance. “I think he’s different,” Pollard said.
Oklahoma Republicans are enthusiastic about Vance’s visit. Pollard noted that while the event is a fundraiser, it also aims to increase excitement and support.
Tickets for the private event are sold out, starting at $5,000 each. High-profile attendees like former U.N. Ambassador Kelly Craft and oil executives Harold Hamm and Larry Nichols donated between $50,000 and $100,000 to join the host committee, which includes a roundtable discussion and photo opportunity.
