A fast-moving weather system is bringing rain and mountain snow to Northern California today.
Showers are moving east, and areas near Interstate 80, as well as counties like Shasta and Tehama, are experiencing steady rain.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 4 a.m. Tuesday for areas above 3,000 feet in the Coast Range and 5,000 feet in the Sierra, with 2 to 5 inches of snow expected.
By Tuesday, the weather will dry up and warm up, with temperatures reaching the upper 50s to low 60s in the Valley and foothills.
However, dense morning fog may form later in the week, especially in the Delta and Valley areas. Another period of unsettled weather may arrive by the weekend.
