A 24-year-old woman from Lake City, Florida, was arrested last week after allegedly breaking into a neighbor’s home while naked, according to police reports.
Haley Blunt faces charges of burglary, criminal mischief, and child neglect following the incident that occurred at 11:56 p.m. on May 1 at a residence on NW Huntsboroa Street.
The victim contacted 911 to report a burglary in progress after hearing knocking on the front door without any response from the person outside. Subsequently, the individual, later identified as Blunt, proceeded to the home’s sliding glass door, continuing to knock without revealing her identity when questioned.
As the victim communicated with 911 dispatch, Blunt reportedly broke a window of the residence and entered the home. The victim then exited the property and awaited the arrival of law enforcement officers in the yard.
Upon police arrival, Blunt was discovered nude and bleeding from injuries sustained during the window break-in. She was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into the Columbia County jail.
Investigations revealed that Blunt, who resided nearby, had left her two young children unsupervised at home during the incident, resulting in an additional child neglect charge. Fortunately, the children were found safe and later entrusted to a family member.
Blunt is currently being held in jail without bond pending further legal proceedings.
