Motorcyclist Killed by Loose Tire on I-25 Near Colorado Springs

A motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning after being struck by a tire that came off a car traveling on Interstate 25 in Colorado.

The incident occurred around 8:56 a.m. local time, approximately 12 miles north of Colorado Springs, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The motorcyclist and the driver of the vehicle, a Subaru, were traveling in opposite directions when the tire detached from the car, bounced across the freeway, and hit the motorcyclist.

Despite first responders’ efforts to administer first aid, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities have not released the identities of either the motorcyclist or the driver. The incident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed as of Sunday afternoon.
