Kadie Price and her family were enjoying a day out at the park, watching activities at the drag strip on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, when disaster struck. A 1980 Jeep CJ, racing northbound on the drag strip, suddenly lost control, careening off the track towards the unsuspecting family.
In a split-second decision, Kadie acted with unparalleled bravery, pushing her 2-year-old daughter out of harm’s way just before the vehicle struck her. Despite efforts from emergency responders and park staff to save her, Kadie tragically succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep, a 64-year-old Michigan man, is under investigation by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, with his identity withheld pending further inquiries.
