The family of the young girl kidnapped from Moreau Lake State Park is pushing for stronger protections for child victims in New York.
They, alongside state legislators, will ask Governor Kathy Hochul to include funding in her budget to ensure that child survivors of crimes have a dedicated advocate during all questioning and legal proceedings.
The proposal is backed by Senator Jim Tedisco and Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara.
Additionally, the legislators will urge the governor to establish a Cold Case unit within the New York State Police, a move that is supported by Mary Lyall, whose daughter Suzanne went missing in 1998 from the U-Albany campus.
