A Missouri man, Martine Williams, 43, has been arrested after allegedly selling fentanyl pills to a man who later overdosed. Williams faces charges for intent to deliver, dispense, distribute, manufacture, and possess a hazardous drug.
On April 6, emergency services were called to an apartment near 50th and Spruce streets after a woman reported her boyfriend was unconscious from taking what he believed were Percocet pills. Upon arrival, officers found the victim in a critical state, administering Narcan before he was transported to Bryan Medical Center.
Police discovered 12 blue pills marked with an “M” and “30,” which were identified as fentanyl rather than oxycodone, as the victim had assumed. The victim purchased the pills for $200 from a man known by the nickname “Bal Head,” who was identified as Williams through social media.
During Williams’ arrest, authorities found an additional 763 fentanyl pills in his vehicle. A judge set his bond at 10% of $250,000, and his next hearing is scheduled for November 14 at 10 a.m.
