Authorities are still searching for a missing 12-year-old girl from Georgia and believe she may be in Florida. Maria Gomez-Perez was last seen six weeks ago, on the night of May 29, when she went missing from her home in Gainesville, Georgia, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

She left home after a phone call and has not been seen or heard from since. Sheriff Gerald Couch said, “Our only goal is to find Maria and bring her home.” Gomez-Perez is described as a Hispanic/Latino girl, 5’3″ tall, and weighing 110 pounds.

Searches have been conducted across multiple states, including Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Illinois, and Maryland. The search team is using various resources such as intelligence, translators, drones, crime scene investigators, and determination to find clues.

A $50,000 reward is being offered for her safe return. The sheriff’s office appreciates the community’s help in keeping the case in the spotlight, whether through reward money, signage, or sharing fliers.

They also caution against scammers exploiting the situation on social media and advise using the sheriff’s office’s official social media for accurate updates. Anyone with information is asked to call 770-503-3232 or email [email protected].
