L.A. County (Thechieftainspear) – Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying two suspects who fatally shot a man while he was riding his bicycle home in Los Angeles County. A $30,000 reward has been announced for information leading to their arrest.

The victim, 32-year-old Jose Manuel Rangel, was returning home after visiting his mother on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2023. As he crossed the Clara Street Bridge in Cudahy, two men approached him, according to investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Details about the exchange between Rangel and the suspects remain unclear, but the encounter quickly turned violent. During the altercation, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot Rangel multiple times before both suspects fled westbound on foot.

At a press conference, officials announced a financial incentive for tips. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has allocated $20,000, while the city of Cudahy has contributed an additional $10,000.

The two suspects are described as:

  • Suspect 1: Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, approximately 5’6” to 5’8” tall. Last seen wearing a blue hat, a surgical mask, a black shirt, and dark-colored jeans.
  • Suspect 2: Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, approximately 5’6” to 5’8” tall. Last seen wearing a black shirt and red shorts.
