Liz Cheney recently expressed regret for voting for Donald Trump in 2020, but her criticism has intensified. On Sunday, Cheney called Trump a depraved individual who could lead the U.S. into chaos. In an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, Cheney said Trump poses a significant threat to the nation and the Constitution.
Cheney, who previously had never voted for a Democrat, endorsed Kamala Harris this week due to the dangers she believes Trump represents. Her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, also endorsed Harris.
Cheney emphasized the importance of voting for Harris rather than just writing in another candidate’s name. She also discussed Harris’ past support for Medicare for All and abolishing ICE, which Harris has moderated recently. Cheney believes Harris has made significant changes and that the election’s stakes are too high to focus on policy differences.
