In Farmington, dozens of volunteers came together to prepare 500 Thanksgiving dinners for those in need, as part of the KBE Foundation’s annual Gift of Gobble event.
This marks the 16th year the Farmington-based construction company has hosted the event, which began in 2009.
Volunteers worked quickly to assemble turkey dinners, including stuffing, potatoes, and pumpkin pies, into boxes that were distributed to 18 different organizations across the state.
The meals will be shared with families in need, with many volunteers returning year after year to help.
For some, like Jim Glaser, bringing his children to participate has become a tradition. It’s always been my thing to just be honest and just give back to people, said his son, Jack.
By the end of this year’s event, the KBE Foundation will have donated more than 5,000 Thanksgiving meals throughout Connecticut.
