The Kansas Supreme Court dismissed an appeal from Attorney General Kris Kobach concerning the enforcement of the Woman’s Right to Know Act.

This decision follows a temporary injunction by the Johnson County District Court, which stopped the state from enforcing parts of the act until the case’s outcome.

The Supreme Court cited an agreement from Kobach and others not to enforce the act until a final decision on its constitutionality is made, making the appeal unnecessary.

The Woman’s Right to Know Act mandates that women seeking an abortion are informed about the procedure and consent voluntarily. It also requires that information on financial, medical, and legal support for women and children be provided.

The district court will make a final ruling on the law’s constitutionality after a full trial.
