Chief Justice G. Richard Bevan has been re-elected to serve a second term, continuing his role until the end of 2028.

He expressed his honor in serving Idaho for the past seven years, with almost four years as chief justice, emphasizing the importance of maintaining fair and impartial courts.

The chief justice is selected by sitting justices through a majority vote, and Bevan will officially begin his second term on January 1, 2025.

Appointed in 2017 by Governor C.L. Butch Otter, Bevan previously practiced law for over 16 years and served as a district judge starting in 2003.

He resides in Meridian with his wife, Pam, and they have five children and 23 grandchildren. Outside of his judicial duties, he enjoys the arts, church activities, and Idaho’s natural beauty.
