A 66-year-old man who recently moved from Windsor, California, to Idaho has been arrested on charges of child molestation, according to investigators.

Richard Leslie Ward II, 66, is being held on a $2 million bail due to the serious nature of the allegations. The charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred in the 1990s. The case was reopened when victims expressed concerns that Ward might still be abusing children.

Windsor police, along with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and Ada County Sheriff’s Office, worked together to investigate. They gathered enough evidence to arrest Ward in Idaho on August 14. He is now in Ada County jail and is awaiting extradition to Sonoma County, where he faces seven felony charges related to child sexual abuse.

The sheriff’s office believes there may be additional victims in both Sonoma County and Ada County. While they usually keep details of sex crimes confidential to protect victims, they are releasing Ward’s booking photo and this information in the hope of finding more victims.
