Groveport, Ohio — The holiday shopping season is a crucial time for retailers to make big sales before the year ends.
During this busy season, supply chain hubs like Cart.com near Columbus are working hard. This massive 2.2 million square foot center is in a prime location with easy access to highways and a freight airport.
It’s also the largest of Cart.com’s 14 facilities across the country, with around 1,000 employees making sure orders are processed and shipped.
Patrick Worthen, the vice president of third-party logistics, calls Cyber Monday the company’s Super Bowl and says the team spends the whole year preparing for the rush.
It sounds simple, but loading and unloading hundreds of trailers each day can get complicated fast, he explained. Organization is key. We’re proud of our preparation, and it’s paying off now.
This facility supports about 6,000 retail and life sciences brands, processing around 1 million orders during the busy shopping period between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
