A man from Lilburn was arrested by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office on July 3 for allegedly transporting a 14-year-old girl from North Carolina to Georgia.
The Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the United States Marshals for help finding the girl, leading to the involvement of the Trafficking and Child Exploitation and Gang Units.
Kevin Carcamo-Garcia, 18, who was reportedly in a relationship with the girl, was arrested at his home. He admitted to transporting her to Georgia.
The girl was found safe and has been returned to her mother with the help of the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services.
Carcamo-Garcia faces charges of statutory rape and child molestation and is being held in the Gwinnett County Jail on an $11,400 bond.
