Patrick Pass, a former fullback for the New England Patriots, was arrested on September 18 in Rhode Island, facing felony charges for allegedly assaulting an 82-year-old man.
The incident occurred on August 28 at a Planet Fitness gym during a dispute over exercise equipment, resulting in injuries to the victim’s lower back.
Pass, 46, has been charged with assaulting a person over 60 causing bodily injury a felony in Rhode Island and disorderly conduct a misdemeanor.
He was released on $10,000 bail and is prohibited from contacting the victim.
Drafted in 2000, the same year as Tom Brady, Pass played seven seasons with the Patriots, contributing to three Super Bowl victories.
He accumulated 1,096 rushing yards and scored four touchdowns.
After struggling with a hamstring injury, Pass retired in 2009 and later coached for the Boston Freedom Fighters and Massachusetts Pirates.
In 2023, he was suspended indefinitely from the Indoor Football League following a riot incident.
Pass is scheduled to appear in court again in January.
