A heartbreaking ATV accident occurred in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula during the holiday weekend, resulting in the death of a man from Chicago and injuring a child.

Michigan State Police rushed to the scene in Schoolcraft County’s Thompson Township around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday. The incident unfolded on the Hemlock Trail, where the ATV overturned after the driver lost control, causing both the driver and the passenger to be ejected.

The driver, a 33-year-old man from Chicago whose identity hasn’t been disclosed, suffered fatal injuries as the vehicle rolled over him. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital.

The passenger, identified as an 11-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries in the accident. It’s worth noting that neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, as confirmed by Michigan State Police.
