LAS CRUCES, N.M. KFOX14/CBS4 — In response to recent arson attacks on ballot boxes in Oregon and Washington, the Office of the New Mexico Secretary of State announced that all ballot drop boxes will be equipped with 24-hour video surveillance.
County staff will also regularly check the drop boxes to ensure security and integrity.
Absentee voters who have not yet returned their ballots can choose to mail them back by Tuesday, drop them off at any polling location in their county, or request a replacement ballot at any early or Election Day polling place.
