Recent polls reveal a significant shift in New Jersey’s political landscape as Donald Trump gains traction over Joe Biden in a state traditionally loyal to Democrats.

According to a recent co/efficient poll, Trump holds a slight edge with 41% support, compared to Biden’s 40%. Independent candidates, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., command 7% of likely voter support.

Another survey by United 2024, a Republican Super PAC, shows Trump leading Biden by 43% to 41% in a head-to-head matchup, with third-party candidates narrowing the gap when included.

In the concurrent Senate race, Republican Curtis Bashaw closely trails Democrat Andy Kim, polling at 39% versus Kim’s 33%. Meanwhile, embattled incumbent Senator Bob Menendez, facing federal corruption charges, plans to run as an independent and currently holds 3% support.

The debate over Joe Biden’s age and cognitive abilities has intensified within the Democratic Party, prompting calls from two sitting members of Congress for him to withdraw from the presidential race. Despite these concerns, Biden’s campaign remains steadfast, affirming his determination to continue as a candidate.

Trump’s rising popularity in New Jersey underscores broader anxieties among Democrats about Biden’s electability. The evolving dynamics suggest a fiercely contested election ahead, impacting not only the presidential race but also pivotal Senate contests.
