- In 1943, Georgia became the first state to lower the voting age from 21 to 18.
- Georgia has had five state capitals: Savannah, Augusta, Louisville, Milledgeville, and Atlanta.
- Founded in 1732, Georgia was the youngest of the original 13 colonies.
- Georgia has two state flowers: the Cherokee rose (official state flower) and the azalea (state wildflower).
