A disbarred New Hampshire attorney, Justin Nadeau, 51, of Rye, has been indicted on multiple charges related to allegedly defrauding a former client with a traumatic brain injury.

The Rockingham County Grand Jury returned 15 indictments against Nadeau, including theft by deception, forgery, two counts of financial exploitation of a disabled adult, and 11 felony counts of falsifying evidence.

The indictments stem from incidents in 2018, where Nadeau is accused of securing two loans, totaling $275,000, from his vulnerable client under false pretenses.

Prosecutors allege that Nadeau failed to disclose legal claims against a condominium he used as collateral for the first loan, then forged his ex-wife’s signature on a promissory note to secure a second loan.

He is also accused of attempting to cover up his actions by fabricating documents, altering metadata, and concealing evidence from the New Hampshire Attorney Discipline Office.

Nadeau, who once ran for a Democratic congressional seat in 2004, was disbarred in April. He was arrested on July 31 and is scheduled for arraignment on October 23.
