It’s hard to keep track of all the accusations against Diddy, but Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith’s name stands out. He’s filed yet another lawsuit against the music mogul, this time demanding $400 million in damages. Cardello-Smith, who is currently in prison for a rape conviction, claims that Diddy drugged him and assaulted him at a party back in 1997.
According to reports, Cardello-Smith says Diddy invited him to a party at a Detroit Holiday Inn. At the event, he claims Diddy gave him a drink that had something extra in it. He says the drink knocked him out, and when he woke up, he saw Diddy having sex with a woman next to him. Cardello-Smith also alleges that Diddy told him, I did this to you too!
Diddy’s legal team has called the lawsuit baseless and pointed out inconsistencies in Cardello-Smith’s story, like naming two different locations for the alleged incident. They also argue the claims are too old to be taken to court because they fall outside the statute of limitations. As of now, Diddy’s lawyers have dismissed the lawsuit as untrue.
This isn’t Cardello-Smith’s first lawsuit against Diddy. Earlier this year, he sued for $100 million but lost the case after Diddy’s team showed he had tampered with court documents.
Despite these setbacks, Cardello-Smith isn’t giving up. He plans to call Jennifer Lopez, who dated Diddy from 1999 to 2001, as a witness. He believes she has information that could support his claims. Diddy’s team, however, says the new lawsuit is just another attempt to make up stories for money.
