Congressman Kelly Armstrong, after serving in Washington, D.C. since 2019, has announced his intention to run for Governor of North Dakota.
Armstrong, who is eager to return home, expressed his commitment to tackling key issues like property tax reform and illegal immigration, despite the latter being a primarily federal issue.
Highlighting concerns he has heard from North Dakota residents, Armstrong noted that people are increasingly frustrated with outside influences affecting their daily lives.
His campaign promises transparency in government, and he acknowledged that one of the primary challenges for the state will be addressing property taxes.
Measure Four, which seeks to eliminate property taxes in North Dakota, could have a significant impact on the state’s fiscal landscape.
Armstrong stated that even if the measure does not pass, property tax reform must remain a priority.
If we don’t figure out a solution for it if it fails, it’s not going to wait 12 years to come back on the ballot, nor should it, he said, underscoring his commitment to finding viable solutions.
