ATLANTA, Ga. – Caring for Others, Inc. is mobilizing to send disaster relief items to communities across Georgia following the devastating hurricane that struck on Friday.

In collaboration with Convoy of Care, the organization has launched the “All Hands Mission” to assist residents in several counties affected by the disaster.

On Thursday, a team will depart for Valdosta before heading to Augusta to distribute essential supplies.

“My heart aches seeing the destruction, but Caring for Others is committed to doing everything we can to help ease the suffering of those affected,” said Eslene Richmond-Shockley, founder, president, and CEO of Caring for Others, Inc. “This situation is extensive, and we need to approach it one day at a time.”

While the organization has some supplies ready at its Disaster Relief Center, additional community support is crucial. They are seeking donations of the following items:

  • Cleaning supplies
  • Tarps
  • Generators
  • Bottled water (palletized preferred)
  • Toilet paper
  • Personal care items
  • Hygiene kits (toothpaste, toothbrushes, bar soap, shampoo/conditioner, personal wipes)
  • First-aid kits
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Laundry detergent
  • Cleaners, disinfectants, and sanitizers
  • Bleach
  • Cleaning rags, towels, and wipes
  • Sponges
  • Gloves
  • Buckets and pails
  • Mops, brooms, and pans
  • Trash bags (kitchen and heavy-duty)
  • Disposable plates, bowls, cups, and plastic utensils
  • Paper towels

Donations can be dropped off at the Caring for Others headquarters located at 3537 Browns Mill Rd SE #2 in Atlanta between Monday and Wednesday, October 2, before 3 p.m.

“Those who have not been affected should consider what it’s like for those who have. We urgently need water, cleaning supplies, and financial contributions to help restore some normalcy to their lives. Please only donate new items that respect the dignity of those who have lost everything,” Shockley emphasized. “Give your best to help them rebuild.”

Leaders also mentioned that they are prepared to assist those in Atlanta who may need support.

“Charity begins at home, so we will be collecting donations for those in need here as well,” Shockley added.

In addition to physical supplies, the team is accepting financial donations and cleanup tools to aid in recovery efforts.
