NLRSD Promotes Self-care with a Fair

North Little Rock School District is hosting a Self-Care Fair today starting from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church on 2015 Main Street in North Little Rock to promote mental health and wellness among NLRSD staff.

All district employees are welcome with an ID badge. The fair was organized by NLRSD counselors for the teachers and faculty of the district. Dustin Barnes, the NLRSD communications coordinator, said, “This event organized by the counselors, is an opportunity for all employees to learn ways that promote healthy living and to develop strategies to manage stress.

Center of Excellence Counselor Melody Cox commented, “Self-care is something they need for this very stressful time.”

Attendees can expect several fun activities at the fair. Cox elaborated on the events that will take place at the fair saying,  “I am doing animal therapy that [staff] will be able to touch, handle and have their pictures taken with [the animals].”

There will be many door prizes at the fair. The district also plans to do a self-care fair for the parents on Dec. 14, 2022.
