On Friday February 25 at 9:30 a.m., North Little Rock High School will crown a new King of the Hill in the NLRHS arena. The ceremony will be live-streamed. The event is hosted by student council with participation from several student body-selected young males from each grade.

King of the Hill has been a North Little Rock tradition for many years. King of the Hill is like a homecoming court for males, with a crowned king just like a homecoming queen. The contenders in this event also get to show off some skill and play a few games and have competitions.

On the court this year is senior Dean Zakrzewski. This is his second time being nominated for King of The Hill.  Zakrzewski says, “I’m so honored to get to represent my 2022 senior class for King of The Hill. I think King of The Hill is a positive event that lets the students get a break from school and have some fun.”

Along with the court comes spirit week. The themes for the week of Feb. 21-25 include:

  • Monday- Anything but a Backpack/ Pajama Day
  • Tuesday- Surfers vs. Bikers
  • Wednesday- Wednesdays We Wear Pink
  • Thursday- Mathlete vs. Athlete
  • Friday- Spirit Day, freshmen wear black, sophomores wear white, juniors wear gold, seniors wear blue
